Family and Friends

Although I am far away
From family and old friends
Our hearts are linked, the feelings strong
Renewed when we meet again

There’s not always time to keep in touch
No phone calls, emails or text
Too far away for visits
Too far away to connect

But when we are together
The bonds again intertwined
It’s like there’s been no distance
No space in hearts and minds

Family and friends, sustaining ties
The kind that keep us strong
Nourishing spirit, mind and heart
that last our whole life long
