plight

for dreams that dissipate
much too soon
hanging like cobwebs
in deserted rooms
for hopes unanswered
on a moonless night
longing's, emptiness
forever in sight
for loneliness
that won't ever abate
the empty heart
where it resonates
I say a prayer
a candle I light
till you are delivered
from this deep plight
