this life, your past, these hopes

were you looking for who you are?
as you leave your past in a ditch
were you thinking I'd wait forever
it would go off without a hitch?

were you swimming against the current?
as your fantasies float downstream
were you trying to pull it together?
as you sacrifice one more dream
