The Flight

I am boarding a one way flight
Seat, first class, aisle
Don’t know how long I’m staying
It may be for awhile

Mind is in a quandary
But it has been engaged
Heart still has some questions
For this chapter and this page

Seeking out some answers
Questions still the same
Answers not forthcoming
Maybe I’m to blame

My soul still has some turmoil
Confusion pushes me on
Mistakes I’ve tried to rectify
Before this flight began

I will stay as long as it takes
To find the things I’ve missed
An ending filled with harmony
An ending of happiness

Not That Into You

You are doing everything right
I know how hard you try
Bending over backwards

I’m just really not that into you

I thought you might be the one
It started off fine
It’s not you

I’m just really not that into you

You shouldn’t change
Not for me
You are perfect, for someone else

I’m just really not that into you

Good luck to you
And to your next
That may be the right one

I’m just really not that into you

Travel Haiku

Going through security at the airport
Strip off all the metal, you know, belt, jewelry
At least in Paris they give you footies!

Kismet

He had failed, miserably, at everything he tried. That was until he met her. Not expecting anything, he started talking to her at work. She seemed interested in what he had to say. No one had ever done that before.

She was different from the rest
Never put him to the test

She was infatuated with him. The way his hair fell. The way he walked. The casual way he tilted his head when he talked to her. No one had ever done that before.

He was different from the rest
Never put her to the test

He did not want to blow it. Not this time. He wanted her so badly!

She was different from the rest
Never put him to the test

She did not want to blow it. Not this time. She wanted him so badly!

He was different from the rest
Never put her to the test

Years later, they look back. After years of love, laughter, hardship and strife, they knew that their meeting, was one of chance. Kismet! It didn’t matter how or why it happened, but just that it did. And they realized:

They were different from the rest
Together they passed every test

October

The leaves all brown and golden have fallen
The cold October wind blows with no relief
Soon snow will blanket all

You said you would return in the fall
Fall is almost over
You are still not here

Who will warm me on the long, cold winter nights?
Who will build the fire in my heart
With you not here?

Anonymous

I live my life anonymously
Don’t want people to know
Like to blend with the background
Don’t like to be put on show

I like my life real quiet
Have those that I hold dear
Not adding any new ones
All those that matter are here

I like my life the way it is
All poetry and prose
Half the topics that are written
Are about people that I don’t know

My life is pretty happy
Not insecure as the prose may seem
In a committed relationship
Like from out of a dream

Just let me live here peacefully
Anonymous, happy, sound
Keep it quiet, keep it simple
Feet firmly on the ground

All I Need

When you touch me all is real
You are the one that makes me feel

I want to be with only you
The one that makes my soul renewed

Take me to that special place
Starting with your warm embrace

I am putty in your hands
Take me to the promised land

Hold me till the mornings light
Passion burning in the night

You are all I’ll ever need
Loving, passion, guaranteed

All you give to make me whole
All my body, heart and soul

Why?

I see you standing there, by the door
And I know that look
I’ve seen it once before

This time when you go
You won’t be back
This I know

Your kiss is chaste
It’s not like the first
On my cheek this one was placed

No reason for goodbye
As you turn and leave
No answer to my “why?”

Pulling Away

The look that you are giving me
Can only mean one thing
I know that it’s been coming
I can feel the heartache it’s going to bring

I could feel you pulling away
From all that I hold dear
Your mind was always miles away
Only your body was here

I blocked it out as long as I could
Tried to make it right
Although you wouldn’t help me
Coming home late most nights

Your touch was somehow different
I tried hard not to see
I thought the space I gave you
Was the thing you need

Too much water over the dam
No way to get back
I am flailing helplessly
Our relationship’s off track

It’s not my imagination
Although I wish it was not true
Own up to what you’re doing
I’ll make it easy for you

Just say the words you need to
Before you walk away
Break my heart and leave me
I know that you can’t stay

Closure

She said “I just need closure!”
How can you move on without it!

So many questions
So many things to rule out

The why’s and the if’s
Are questions unanswered

To go forward
First you must go back

Correct the wrongs
To make things right in the future

So give me closure!
Answer the questions

So I can move on

Resolve

I needed you
And you weren’t here
Once again

A bad day that I needed to share
With someone that cares
You weren’t here

You have your own life
Without me, far away
I need you too

How can we resolve this?
Meet me half way
Tell me how?

You are there for me in other ways
A strong voice, strong words
That I cling to

Make me your life
Come to me
Make me whole!

Manic Monday

Another manic Monday
So much to be done
Pulled in all directions
Like I’m the only one

Sorted out the problems
Got them all on board
No one there to back me
With all the problems I sorted

My world was really spinning
Hanging on to my control
Till the moment I get home
And you totally take over

You massage my body
My ego and my mind
Tell me all will be okay
You are a great find

I give myself completely
Into your loving care
Grateful that I’m home at last
And that you are there

You complete all parts of me
Your soothing words and voice
Know just what I’m needing
Makes my heart rejoice

Let Me Inside

Are you capable of love?
Let me inside

Is there a wall around your heart?
I can break it down

Is there true feelings behind your touch?
Or am I just a diversion

Are you here with me?
Your body is, but what about your mind

Can you give me all of you?
I won’t settle for less!

Kiss

I want to kiss your mouth
The mouth that kisses my body
And ignites the passion in my soul

I want to kiss your mouth
The mouth that says the words
That I need to hear

I want to kiss your mouth
The mouth that says and shows
That you love me

Resistance

Resisting of temptation
The things that don’t feel right
Going down the wrong road
Change the course of my life

Contemplating my actions
The actions that steer me forward
Trying to take the safe path
Trying not to get hurt

Each new situation
Future is unclear
Praying for the guidance
Consequences could be severe

You are a temptation
I may not be able to resist
You are chipping at the wall
My wall of self preservation

With a hug you reply “more than my fly rods”
That’s a lot!!

Miles Away

Though you are miles away
You can touch me like no other
As if you were laying next to me

Though you are miles away
You are in my mind and soul
As I want to be in yours

Though you are miles away
You know what I need
And when I need it

Though you are miles away
You can still make me laugh or cry
You can read me

Though you are miles away
You are close to me
In my heart

Tenfold

He looked at her pensively
A look she could not read
What was it he was thinking?

Tell me all there is
Show me with your eyes
Open your heart

Let us walk together
Arm in arm
Down life’s path

Let us experience it all
Together, elation and sadness
Side by side

Offer your heart
And I will give you mine
Tenfold

Unjust

I tried to find the way in
Though your heart was locked and barred
How do I get through to you
You are always on your guard

What happened to you in the past?
What happened to your trust?
Why is there this fortress?
What happened that was unjust?

I will do all that it takes
To penetrate this wall
I would never hurt you
The threat is very small

You will see the truth I bring
Your trust in me will grow
Love will blossom eventually
I’ll take it very slow

Your heart will see before your mind
The things I bring are real
No protection needed
I have nothing to conceal

Faith, devotion and my love
The things I bring to you
Look deeper at your feelings
There’s nothing here untrue

Take the time that you require
Let your feelings grow
I will wait here patiently
Till we’re on the same plateau

Take all that I offer
Let your heart brake free
Because I’ll give you everything
I want you here with me

Crash Landing

Is that the best that you can do?
You call that an approach?
Do women actually fall for that
How, I just don't know

A little shaky at the start
That I can understand
But the way you crash landed at the end
Has just put me off

Maybe it’s just you're not my type
You aren’t the guy I need
Now that guy standing next to you
Is a different story indeed

Thanks for being interested
Why don't you try over there
I’ll dance with your friend here
Thanks for the introduction!

Empty Days

I hate the times he has to go
To meetings far away
Leaves me sad and lonely
A week of empty days

The time does seem to go so slow
He'll call me every night
Special words saved just for me
In emails that he writes

It doesn’t help the empty bed
Or cold pillow where he lay
Wearing one of his favorite shirts
Sleep still stays at bay

Longing for his safe return
Please hurry back to me
Sleeping alone just isn’t fun
I know that he agrees

Then when reunited
You’ll claim the love that’s yours
Passionate kisses, loving touch
The moments we live for

Severing The Bond

I can’t take the pain
That I see in your blue eyes
This is hard on both of us
But staying together is a lie

We’ve already gone our separate ways
Though we still live together
Severing the bonds are tough
We thought we would last forever

We tried in all ways possible
It just can not be
To much invested, no return
Is all that I can see

Give me a hug and just one kiss
Please, for old times sake
You will always be special to me
But this charade is a mistake

New Horizon

I ask that you set me free
Release me from this one sided relationship
That used to hold so much

Release me from unfulfilled promises,
Unrealized dreams, empty feelings
No longer important to one of us

Let me move on to a new horizon
Not bound or restricted by this one
That ceased to exist

I am sorry that I hurt you
Let me go, please
So you can heal

The Way I Feel

Can you hear the pounding?
The pounding of my heart
Beating quicker when I’m near you
And has right from the start

Can you feel the electricity?
The electricity when we touch
Unconsummated passion
I want you so much

Can you read my thoughts?
The thoughts that you should know
How much I long to be with you
And all my love bestow

Can you sense the way I feel?
Or am I way off base?
I offer my whole heart to you
For your love to encase

Rapture

Take me to the limit
As much as I can endure
Love me without boundaries
Passionate, endless rapture

Hold and caress me softly
Whisper how you feel
Exceeding all my borders
Show me what is real

Loving me is easy
I do not ask for much
Kind words, kind thoughts, kind feelings
And your gentle touch

Take me to the limit
And I will meet you there
Lovers, friends and confidants
This extraordinary love affair

All I Ask

All I ask
Is that you are true
Above all else

All I ask
Is that you treat me kind
And I will do the same

All I ask
Is that you don’t try to change me
And I will not try to change you

All I ask
Is for your respect
As I respect you

All I ask
Is for your love
As I love you

Rejuvenation

On a mountain far away
By a cool, blue stream
Is a special haven
An answer to all dreams

The mountain, it is very steep
And very hard to climb
Covered with thorny brambles
It takes a good long time

But there is a secret path
At first it does seem hidden
Look for a craggy range of rocks
That way is not so forbidding

The climb will take a good long while
And is very tiring
But all you seek is onward
For it is awe inspiring

You will know that you are close
When the brambles become flowers
The climb becomes much easier
You’ll start to feel empowered

Once you’ve reached this haven
Take a dip in the cool water
Rid yourself of evils
Cleanse your soul and spirit

Rejuvenate your mind and heart
Take all the time you need
What you take away with you
Will keep you in good stead

Charade

The time we wasted with these foolish games
Matching play by play, manipulating
Trying to outwit the outcome

The time we wasted is a travesty
A game of charades
A house of cards bound to collapse

We should have put the foolishness aside
Concentrated on the here and now
Been kinder and more loving

The time we wasted can not be salvaged
Is it too late, did we go too far?
Or can we start over

Deliverance

How could I have done this
What was I even thinking
This time I went way to far
And you’re already missed

No one here to greet me
When I come home at night
No one here to care about
Leaving you was crazy

The hurt and destruction
I left you with,
No thoughts of the future
Just the here and now for me

My selfishness is unforgivable
I apologize for the disparities
For thinking there were pastures
That may be greener

I see the error of my ways
And beg for deliverance
From this hell
I delivered myself into
